Sea Glass

Carter tells us ladies that she needs our help with procuring beach items for the reception. We all get ourselves together and go to too many stores gathering items for the favors. It feels great for all of us to be together laughing and shopping. Jen says that we should pause for a lunch break. We let Luz pick the place. I’m scrolling on my phone and then hear my name. ” Billie…Billie?” “Oh my bad, what did you say?” The ladies said it would be fun to go to the beach and look for sea glass and do some crafting.

After lunch we drop our bags at Carter’s family house in Cape May, and we go get our suits on. We go to Higbee beach again because they seem to have lots of beach glass. We gather a good bit of varying colors in buckets. Jen and I set up our beach area. Carter runs the playlist today. I take my top off and laugh face down on the beach roll to get a golden hue on my brown skin. I’m not sure how much time goes by. I dream of Cam and all the things I would like to do. ” Billie, want to swim?” Wait he is actually here! I pop up and see him smiling down at me. He helps me up and embraces me. I walk down to the water with him. As water splashes up on me I remember that I am not wearing my top.

I try to act like it’s no big deal and casually walk back to get it on. Cam smiles when I rejoin him back in the water. He doesn’t say anything about me getting my top back on. I appreciate that. We stay and watch the sunset and then back up. Carter says that she is tired and not very hungry. Luz makes a plan for us to link up with carter and his friends for dinner and drinks. After dinner we head down to the beach. Jen pulls a speaker out of her bag and plays dj. I can tell she is tipsy because she is dancing on anybody that passes. I sit back and shake my head. Some people take strolls down the beach. While other sit reminiscing on teen shenanigans. I notice Jen and Cam are gone now. I shrug my shoulders thinking she did call dibs. I sit my bag next to one of the friends and take a walk of my own.

Near the dunes and some tall grass, I hear Jen giggle. I hear a moan next and my feet have a mind of their own. I slowly creep towards the grass. Jen is making out with Cam. He starts to kiss down her neck and pull the straps of her dress down. She throws her head back as he drops his mouth to her nipple. She grabs a fistful of his hair. I think I have seen enough. I walk back to group. I sit down and take the water bottle offered to me by Cam. Wait what, I spin my head towards him. “When did you get back?” He tells me he went to check on Carter just to see if she changed her mind about eating. ” Hey party people!” Jen shouts as she comes back to the group with a guy I can now see isn’t Cam. She stumbles to where we are and plops down between my legs. ” So how do we decide who gets this one? Dance off?” Jen points to Cam and laughs.

Deciding that we all have had enough fun we head back to our rooms. I am standing with my door open as I take my shoes off. ” So can I come in?” I turn to see cam. I smile and nod yes.
